Let's Talk

Hannah Jones BSc, MMCP

Performance Horse Specialist

Founder of Equine NeuroAlchemy™

START THE PROCESS

Tell me about your horse.

Whether you’re a professional trainer with a horse you can’t quite unravel, an owner who knows their horse is capable of more, or you’re looking for deeper support for your horse’s wellbeing, the process starts with a conversation.

You don’t need to know which service your horse needs. That’s my job.

Tell me what’s happening, what you’ve already investigated and what you would ultimately like to change.

From there, I’ll recommend the most appropriate next step - whether that’s an Equine NeuroAlchemy Intensive, a Performance Intensive Stay at Sabre Ranch, a remote Sabre Session or another route entirely.

I want to understand the horse behind the enquiry.

If possible, please include:

  • Your horse’s age, breed and discipline

  • Current training and competition level

  • The problem or change you’ve noticed

  • How long it has been happening

  • What you’ve already investigated or tried

  • Any relevant veterinary or injury history

  • What you would most like to change

EQUINE NEUROALCHEMY

Nervous system. Body. Behaviour. Performance.

Still have questions?

No. 2 What kinds of performance problems do you work with?

Equine NeuroAlchemy is particularly suited to horses where the problem doesn’t fit neatly into one box.

That may include horses who are:

  • Talented but inconsistent

  • Tight, braced or resistant

  • Reactive or easily overwhelmed

  • Anticipating rather than waiting and responding

  • Struggling to settle or recover following pressure

  • Showing unexplained changes in behaviour or performance

  • Returning to work but not feeling like the same horse

  • Physically capable but seemingly unable to access their full ability

  • Thoroughly investigated through the usual routes, yet something still isn’t adding up

I don’t begin by assuming the problem is training, physical, behavioural or emotional.

I look at the whole horse and investigate how those pieces may be interacting.

No. 1 How do I know if my horse is a good candidate?

You don’t need to wait until something has gone seriously wrong.

Some horses come because there is an obvious performance or behavioural problem. Others come because their trainer or owner knows something isn’t quite right — the horse has become tighter, more reactive, resistant, inconsistent or simply isn’t performing to their potential.

And some come proactively because their owners want to support their nervous system, physical comfort and longevity before small changes become larger problems.

If you’re unsure, tell me about your horse. I’ll let you know whether I believe my work is appropriate.

No. 3 Will you change my horse’s training?

No. I want to complement your program, not replace it.

This is particularly important for professional trainers.

You know your discipline and you know your horse. My role is to bring another specialist perspective to the factors that may be interfering with the horse’s ability to benefit from that training.

Where appropriate, I am happy to communicate directly with the horse’s trainer and other professionals so that the work supports the program they’re returning to.

You train the performance. Let me help with what’s getting in the way of it.

No. 4 What is Equine NeuroAlchemy?

Equine NeuroAlchemy is the integrated methodology I developed through more than a decade of professional work with horses.

It considers the relationship between the horse’s nervous system, body, behaviour, previous experiences, training, environment and energy rather than treating each as an isolated issue.

Depending on the individual horse, my work may draw upon nervous-system regulation, therapeutic bodywork, trauma-informed techniques, training and groundwork, movement, remedial saddle fitting, intuitive communication and energy work.

There is no fixed protocol.

The methodology adapts to the horse — not the horse to the methodology.

No. 5 What qualifications and experience does Hannah have?

Hannah Jones holds a BSc in Human Psychology and has over a decade of professional experience as a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner.

Her background also encompasses equine training, remedial saddle fitting, trauma-informed work, nervous-system regulation, therapeutic bodywork and energy-based approaches.

Having worked internationally with horses and riders across multiple disciplines, Hannah developed Equine NeuroAlchemy to bring these different areas together and address the whole horse behind the performance.

No. 6 Does Equine NeuroAlchemy replace veterinary care?

No.

Equine NeuroAlchemy is designed to complement the horse’s existing professional team, not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment.

Where a horse presents with symptoms that warrant veterinary investigation, I will recommend appropriate veterinary involvement before or alongside my work.

The best outcomes come when the right professionals work together around the individual horse.

No. 7 What happens during a Performance Intensive Stay?

Every horse begins with observation.

I want to understand how they settle, move, respond to pressure, recover, interact with their environment and where patterns begin to appear.

From there, I create an individual program based on what the horse shows me.

Depending on their needs, this may incorporate nervous-system regulation, bodywork, groundwork or ridden work, movement, trauma-informed techniques, saddle assessment and energy work.

Horses are also given appropriate downtime between sessions because integration is part of the process.

Owners and trainers receive updates throughout the stay, followed by a comprehensive handover explaining what I’ve observed, what has changed and my recommendations for the horse going forward.

No. 8 How long should my horse stay?

That depends on the horse and the complexity of the problem.

Some horses need a shorter reset focused on regulation, recovery and identifying the primary patterns affecting them.

More complex horses may benefit from a longer stay, giving us time to work through multiple layers and observe how changes hold over time.

Once I’ve reviewed your horse’s history and what you’re experiencing, I’ll recommend the level of intensive I believe is most appropriate.

No. 9 Do you only work with horses that have problems?

Absolutely not.

One of the most valuable times to support a performance horse is before there is a major problem.

High-level horses experience considerable physical and mental demands. Supporting regulation, physical comfort, recovery and emotional resilience can be part of protecting their longevity and helping them remain available for their job.

Your horse doesn’t need to be broken to benefit from Equine NeuroAlchemy.

Sometimes we’re resolving a problem. Sometimes we’re protecting potential.

Not Sure What Your Horse Needs?

You don’t have to diagnose the problem before you contact me.

That’s precisely why I’m here.

Tell me about your horse.

Tell me what you’re feeling.

Tell me what isn’t adding up.

And tell me what you’d love your horse to be capable of.

We’ll start there.

About Us

Sabre Ranch specialises in the horse that isn’t responding to the usual answers.

Through Equine NeuroAlchemy, Hannah Jones works beyond the presenting behaviour or performance problem to understand the whole horse - nervous system, body, mind, training, environment and energy - and identify what may be preventing that horse from reaching their potential.
