EQUINE NEUROALCHEMY
Equine NeuroAlchemy
Where the nervous system, body, behaviour and energy come together. Your horse is not a collection of separate systems.
Their behaviour influences their body. Their body influences their nervous system. Their nervous system influences how they learn, move, respond to pressure and ultimately perform.
Equine NeuroAlchemy is an integrated approach to understanding and transforming the whole horse.
Developed by Hannah Jones through more than a decade of professional work with horses, it brings together nervous system regulation, therapeutic bodywork, trauma-informed work, training, movement, remedial saddle fitting, intuitive communication and energy work.
Rather than asking only “How do we change this behaviour?” or “Where is this horse sore?”, Equine NeuroAlchemy asks:
What is happening underneath - and what does this horse need in order to change?

The Equine NeuroAlchemy Approach
Look beyond the symptom. Understand the whole horse.
A change in behaviour or performance is information.
Resistance isn’t necessarily defiance. Tension isn’t random. Reactivity, anticipation, shutting down, difficulty learning or changes in movement can all tell us something about the horse’s internal experience.
Equine NeuroAlchemy looks beyond the presenting problem to explore the interaction between the horse’s nervous system, physical body, emotional state, previous experiences, training, environment and energy.
This is particularly important with performance horses.
A horse may be exceptionally talented and well trained, yet persistent tension, physical restriction or protective responses can prevent them from consistently accessing that ability.
The aim isn’t to force a different response.
It’s to change what is happening underneath the response.
As the horse becomes more regulated, comfortable and confident, we create the conditions for greater softness, responsiveness, freedom of movement, learning and performance.
The Difference
Most individual modalities naturally focus on one part of the horse.
Equine NeuroAlchemy connects the pieces.
Instead of deciding beforehand that a horse needs bodywork, training, trauma release or energy work, I assess the individual horse and draw from the tools they need.
The methodology adapts to the horse - the horse doesn’t have to fit the methodology.
When you're ready to...
... understand why your horse’s behaviour or performance has changed rather than simply managing it
... discover what may be preventing a talented horse from reaching their full potential
... support your horse before small changes develop into larger performance problems
... understand your horse at a deeper level and develop a more responsive partnership
... or simply discover how much more may be possible when the whole horse is considered

Bespoke Equine NeuroAlchemy Programmes
Whole-horse performance and wellbeing support, designed just for your horse
It is a bespoke programme of support, created around the individual horse, their body, nervous system, behaviour, workload, history, environment and performance goals.
I work directly with owners, trainers and professional barns, travelling to the horses and becoming part of the wider team supporting their wellbeing, longevity and performance.
Because the best time to support a horse isn’t necessarily when something has already gone wrong.
It’s before it does.
Proactive Care For The Horse As A Whole
Performance horses are extraordinary athletes.
Their bodies and nervous systems are continually adapting to training, competition, travel, environmental pressures and the physical demands of their discipline.
And often, the first indication that something needs attention isn’t an obvious injury.
It can be a subtle change in movement.
A different feel under saddle.
A change in behaviour or willingness.
More tension through the body.
Difficulty recovering after work.
A change in a stop, turn, lead or way of carrying themselves.
Or simply the feeling that something isn’t quite right.
Equine NeuroAlchemy looks deeper.
Rather than isolating one symptom or area of the body, I consider the relationship between the horse’s:
Physical body • Nervous system • Movement • Biomechanics • Behaviour • Emotional state • Tack • Training • Environment • Recovery • Performance
This allows me to build a much more complete picture of the horse and identify patterns that may otherwise be easily missed.
Your Horse's Programme
No two horses receive the same programme.
Drawing upon more than a decade of professional experience across equine bodywork, nervous system regulation, behaviour, remedial saddle fitting, holistic health and horsemanship, I select and adapt the work according to what each individual horse needs.
A programme may incorporate specialist bodywork and Masterson Method®, nervous system regulation, fascial and postural work, movement and biomechanical assessment, behavioural and emotional pattern recognition, saddle and tack observations, photonic light therapy, holistic and energetic techniques, alongside recommendations surrounding training, management and ongoing support.
The programme evolves with the horse.
As their body changes, their training progresses or their needs shift, the work changes with them.
There is no formula. The horse tells us what they need.
For Performance Horses & Professional Barns
For trainers, competitors and professional operations, Equine NeuroAlchemy can become an ongoing part of the horse’s wider performance team.
Rather than simply being called when a horse develops an obvious problem, I can work proactively with horses throughout their training and competition schedules - getting to know their individual patterns, establishing what is normal for them and recognising subtle changes early.
That continuity matters.
When significant time, training, money and emotion have been invested into exceptional horses, protecting their wellbeing and longevity isn’t an optional extra.
It is part of protecting the investment you have already made in them.

Another Expert On Your Horse's Team
My role isn’t to replace your veterinarian, farrier, trainer or other professionals.
It is to bring another perspective to the team.
To notice the subtle things.
To connect patterns between the body, nervous system, behaviour and performance.
To listen to what the horse may be communicating before they have to communicate it more loudly.
And ultimately, to help give every horse I work with the greatest opportunity to feel their best, perform at their best and remain capable of doing what they love for as long as possible.
Don’t wait for a problem to give your horse the support they deserve.

Equine NeuroAlchemy Level One
Learn to understand the horse beneath the behaviour.
The foundation of the Equine NeuroAlchemy approach.
Your horse communicates constantly.
Through their posture. Their movement. Their responses. Their tension. Their behaviour. Their nervous system. And the subtle changes that are easily missed when we don’t know what we’re looking for.
Equine NeuroAlchemy Level 1 teaches you to begin seeing the whole horse differently.
Across eight comprehensive modules, you’ll learn how to:
-
Recognise physical tension and patterns of discomfort
-
Develop awareness of your horse’s nervous-system state
-
Understand behaviour as communication
-
Identify subtle changes before they become larger problems
-
Use safe, practical techniques to support relaxation and release
-
Develop greater feel and awareness around your horse
-
Support physical and emotional wellbeing
-
Build trust through conscious interaction
-
Understand the relationship between mind, body, behaviour and energy
This isn’t simply a collection of techniques.
It’s a different way of seeing the horse.
Whether you’re an owner, rider or equine professional, Level 1 gives you the foundations to become more observant, responsive and confident in supporting the horse in front of you.
Science continues to deepen our understanding of how profoundly the nervous system influences learning, perception, movement and behaviour.
But working with horses also requires something that can’t be reduced to a protocol: Feel.
The ability to observe.
To listen.
To recognise subtle changes.
To know when to ask and when to wait.
Equine NeuroAlchemy brings these worlds together.
Nervous system and body.
Science and intuition.
Training and release.
Performance and wellbeing.
Horse and human.
Because extraordinary performance shouldn’t come at the expense of the horse. It should emerge from a horse who feels able to give it.

Where Science &
Intuition meet
The horse doesn’t separate their mind from their body.
Neither should we.

Your Horse Doesn't Need Another Quick Fix
They need someone willing to look at the whole picture.
I will treat your horse with the same patience, curiosity and respect I would want for my own.
I don’t expect every client to share every aspect of my philosophy. What matters is an openness to looking beyond the obvious and allowing the horse’s responses to guide the process.
Sometimes the answer is physical.
Sometimes it’s behavioural.
Sometimes it’s neurological, emotional or energetic.
Often, several pieces are interacting.
My job is to help connect them.
Whether you’re trying to resolve an existing problem, protect a valuable performance horse or simply understand your horse at a deeper level, we’ll begin with the horse in front of us.

Real Horses. Real Change
The greatest measure of this work is what changes for the horse.
Not simply what happens during a session, but what owners and riders experience afterwards:
A horse who can finally relax.
A horse who becomes easier to ride.
A horse whose movement changes.
A horse who becomes more willing.
A horse whose owner finally understands what they’ve been trying to communicate.
And a performance horse who becomes more available for the job they’re being asked to do.

"Me and my horse Jasper have had the loveliest and relaxed days with Hannah coming to our yard for a holistic day. I loved the groundwork session learning about how I can improve Jasper's way of working through groundwork, he was even beginning to relieve tension in his body. Jasper loved his essential oil, reiki and bodywork session and it was great to see him so relaxed. Would highly recommend and can't wait to have Hannah back out again in the future."
- Hayley Griffiths, Cheshire

"I honestly cannot believe how much of an improvement Honey is making at each session and how Hannah's techniques are making a difference in her schooling and day-to-day attitude. She is such a guarded horse that to relax in the way she does during sessions and continues to in the weeks after is amazing and that's down to Hannah!! Her patience, kind and gentle attitude, as well as her knowledge, helps not only the horse to relax but us as the owner too. I cannot recommend Hannah enough."
- Sophie Dean, Flintshire
